Privacy Policy

Who we are

Elixir Real Estate Inc., Brokerage is a real estate brokerage registered in Ontario, at 1065 Canadian Pl, Ste 207, Mississauga, ON L4W 0C2. We are responsible for the personal information described here, and we handle it under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for email, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we collect

When you fill in a form

Only the fields on the form in front of you. Depending on which one, that is your name, email address, phone number, your message, and the listing you were looking at. We also record the wording of the consent notice you were shown, whether you ticked the optional market-updates box, the time you submitted, and your browser's user-agent string.

When you book a meeting

Your name, email, phone number, anything you write in the notes field, and the time you chose. This is used to create the calendar appointment and to confirm it with you.

When you simply browse

Nothing that identifies you. There is no analytics on this site and it sets no cookies, so we cannot tell you which pages you read. Our host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

What we do not do

• No analytics or tracking. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording, no advertising trackers.
• No cookies. This site sets none of its own, which is why you have never seen a cookie banner here.
• No third-party fonts. Our fonts are served from our own site, so opening a page does not hand your IP address to a font provider.
• No selling, renting or trading of your information, ever, to anyone.
• No messages sent as you. Nothing is emailed or texted to your contacts on your behalf.

Why we use it, and who sees it

To answer you. An enquiry goes to the agent responsible for that listing and to our office; a general enquiry goes to our office. If you asked for market updates, we use your email for that too, until you tell us to stop.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process your information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

• Cloudflare — hosts the site and runs the anti-spam check on our forms.
• Supabase — stores the enquiry record.
• Resend — delivers the emails that confirm your enquiry and notify our agents.
• Google — Workspace for our email, and Calendar for meetings you book.

If you enquire about a specific listing, your name and contact details are also added to the private contact list of that listing's agent inside our own agent system, so they can follow up with you. It is visible only to that agent.

Some of these providers process data outside Canada, which means it may be subject to the laws of the country it is processed in. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Market updates, and stopping them

We only send market updates to people who ticked the box asking for them. It is never pre-ticked, and answering an enquiry is not treated as permission to market to you. Every update we send carries an unsubscribe link, and one click is all it takes. You can also reply to any email from us, or call the office, and we will remove you.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while we are in touch with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we recognise you if you come back. Where an enquiry becomes a transaction, Ontario real estate law requires us to keep the associated records for a set period, and we do. When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, we delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us, at any time, to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it; or
• stop sending you market updates.

Email [email protected] or call 416-816-6001 and we will deal with it. We may need to confirm who you are first, so that we are not handing your details to someone else.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy question, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Keeping it safe

Access to enquiry records is restricted to the people at the brokerage who need it, and our agent system is protected so that an agent can only see their own contacts. The site is served over an encrypted connection. No system is perfect, but we do not collect what we do not need, which is the most reliable protection there is.

Children

This site is meant for adults buying, selling or leasing property. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. The date reflects when the practice changed, not when the site was last published.
